Our story
Two brothers, Eric and Steve, who grew up in Northern Nevada.
Eric graduated with his Masters in Civil Engineering from USC. Recruited by one of the worlds largest engineering firms straight out of college, Eric developed one of the newest wing of the LAX airport in 2001. He then managed construction of the LA Cathedral, marking one of the most decadent additions to that religious community at that time. He moved back to Reno in 2003 to be close to family, where he completed the massive undertaking to subvert the train tracks that ran through downtown Reno, which has been noted as one of the single biggest factors in Downtown Reno’s commercial and residential growth in the last 2 decades. Around the same time, Eric began investing in real estate when he purchased his first rental property. Since then, he has become an expert in all things real estate, and utilizes his engineering and construction expertise to revitalize the homes he purchases that are in disrepair, and creating beautiful homes for families to live in, while improving neighborhoods.
Steve stayed in Reno, to pursue a Bachelors in Finance and a Bachelors in Economics from UNR. Fascinated with real estate, and seeing his big brother find success, Steve bought his first property in 2004, where the two of them together (with their dad), converted a one-story house into a 2-story house. From that point on, Steve fell in love with real estate. He has a beautiful wife and two amazing kids that keep his days full of joy and laughter. He has remained a permanent fixture in the community, being heavily involved in the Boys and Girls Club and on the board of the UNR College of Business Alumni Association. When he’s not with family, or fulfilling his role on community boards, he likes to brew beer, and take in the wonderful activities the Reno area has to offer like hiking, and snowboarding.
The name Blue Bird Home Buyers plays on two different levels for these brothers. First, they grew up snowboarding the nearby mountain resorts of Heavenly, Kirkwood, and Northstar. In snowboard culture, “Blue Bird” is often referred to as ideal snow conditions with blue sky and not a cloud in sight. Also from a second perspective, the state bird of Nevada is the Mountain Blue Bird. So the name is also a bit of an homage to this great state of Nevada.
